Aitken Neuroscience Center Aitken Neuroscience Center, ANC
     A non profit, bio-medical research and educational center devoted to improving the outcome for people who suffer a traumatic brain injury.  Their web site provides easy access information about ANC's research and educational programs, as well as information about the acute care for coma. Also includes information about and sample chapters of the medical Guidelines developed by ANC.      This site provides information to both medical professionals and to the public. American Board of Professional Neuropsychology  - University of Memphis
     The American Board of Professional Neuropsychology (ABPN) recognizes and encourages the pursuit of excellence in the practice of clinical neuropsychology. ABPN's primary objective is the establishment of professional standards of expertise for the practice of clinical neuropsychology. This site provides general membership/application information. The entire examination process is provided in outline form.
American College of Radiology  - American College of Radiology
The principle organization of radiologists, radiation oncologists, and clinical medical physicists in the United States. This site includes a very comprehensive overview of the College. Topics include publications, research, events, job listings, etc. Some sections are reserved for members only. http://www.acr.org/
Amnesia Research Laboratory  -  University of Illinois
The Lab attempts to understand the organization of human memory and the neural systems underlying memory using a cognitive neuroscience approach. Current projects in the Lab include neuropsychological studies of patients with memory disorders, eye movement monitoring, and functional neuroimaging. Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback  - Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback
The mission of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) is to advance the development, dissemination, and utilization of knowledge about applied psychophysiology and biofeedback in order to improve health and the quality of life through research, education and practice. Includes current research, news, a media catalog, events, and related links. A very organized layout. Frequently updated. 

Association of Neuroscience Departments & Programs  -  Association of Neuroscience Departments and Programs
The Association of Neuroscience Departments & Programs (ANDP) is an independent, nonprofit, academically oriented organization which shares many interests with the Society for Neuroscience. This site helps the Association in their goal to advance education and research training in academic neuroscience programs by disseminating information about neuroscience education and providing a forum for discussion of issues in training and research at both the institutional and national levels. Includes a membership directory, activities, and training programs in North America. The Beckman Institute: Cognitive Neuroscience Group University of Illinois
The members of the Cognitive Neuroscience Group are concerned with how cognitive and emotional functioning is implemented in the neural architecture of the human brain. As such, research done by members of this group is centered firmly within the objectives of the Biological Intelligence major research theme of the Institute. 

Biofeedback Foundation of Europe  -  Biofeedback Foundation of Europe
The Biofeedback Foundation of Europe (BFE) welcomes all practicing health professionals, as well as recent graduates in a health related field. BFE membership is free to all workshop participants. This site provides organizational information, including registration information. Visitors may find the online Library and listing of R&D Projects useful. Although the site is well organized, we found some of the information to be outdated.

Center for Biological and Computational Learning  - Massachusetts Institute of Technology
The Center promotes research collaboration in artificial intelligence, computer science, engineering, and the neurosciences. This site contains mostly departmental information. Center for Neuroscience at U.C. Davis  -  University of California, Davis
The UC Davis Center for Neuroscience draws from a wide variety of resources to conduct its teaching and research programs. Contributing to this interdisciplinary approach are Center faculty members, students, and collaborators who represent 13 academic departments and sections on the main campus and a number of off-campus sites. A useful site for visitors who are interested in applying to the Neuroscience doctoral program at UC Davis, though some of the information was found to be outdated. http://neuroscience.ucdavis.edu/
The Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition  -  Carnegie Mellon University
The Center is dedicated to the study of the neural basis of cognitive processes, including learning and memory, language and thought, perception, attention, and planning. Center for the Study & Treatment of Movement Disorders  - NYU Medical Center 

          The NYU Center for Movement Disorders (CMD) is staffed by a team of world renowned experts from the clinical neurosciences. This multidisciplinary approach allows these professionals to provide the highest quality care for patients with Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, as well as other types of movement disorders. This site provides useful information on CMD to both patients - how to contact a CMD representative and how to schedule an appointment and physicians - what types of surgical procedures are offered. Centre for Clinical Research in Neuropsychiatry  -  University of Western Australia
The Centre for Clinical Research in Neuropsychiatry (CCRN) focuses on the aetiology, epidemiology, course, and outcome of major psychiatric disorders in adults and children. The CCRN has a special interest in genetic and family studies. The CCRN is a World Health Organization collaborating center. CenterWatch, Inc.  -  A division of Medical Economics Company
          A Boston Based publishing company focusing on the clinical trials industry.  Publishes a variety of print and web based information resources.  CenterWatch is dedicated to assisting patients and their advocates learn about and identify ongoing clinical trials seeking volunteers.

Cognitive Neuroscience Society  -  Cognitive Neuroscience Society
Committed to the development of mind and brain research aimed at investigating the psychological, computational, and neuroscientific bases of perception and cognition. This site provides general membership information including the CNS newsletter as well as a calendar of events.

Colorado Neurological Institute  -  Colorado Neurological Institute
The Institute provides comprehensive care for those affected by neurological disorders, promotes research in neuroscience, and offers educational opportunities to the community. A well-organized site providing organizational information only. This site is aimed at both patients and professionals. 

The Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives  -  Charles A. Dana Foundation
           The Dana Alliance, a nonprofit organization of more than 170 neuroscientists, was formed to help provide information about the personal and public benefits of brain research. This site will help answer questions about brain-related research and provide information about new developments in brain research. 
Division of Neurosurgery  -  University of North Carolina
          This site is designed to serve as a source of information for Neurosurgery at UNC, and as a repository of information for Neurosurgical education. This site presents general information about the division, but does it in such a way that it is informative and educational. 
EEG Spectrum  -  EEG Spectrum, Inc.
Much more than just simply a brochure corporate Web site, EEG Spectrum promotes EEG biofeedback through educational and informative articles, hundreds of references, and offers a free newsletter directed toward consumers. Updated regularly, the Web site offers all the information you'll ever need on this unique treatment method for ADHD/ADD, anxiety, depression, and a host of other disorders. A well-designed and easy-to-navigate site. 

Harvard Brain Tissue Resource Center  -  McLean Hospital
The Harvard Brain Tissue Resource Center (HBTRC) is a federally funded, national resource (non-profit) for the collection and distribution of postmortem human brain tissues for medical research. The HBTRC Web page provides information about how to donate, and how to request and handle tissue samples. They also have a quarterly newsletter. http://www.brainbank.mclean.org:8080/ 
International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies
      Information about ISTSS, an international organization of clinicians, researchers, and others professionally interested in PTSD.            http://www.istss.org
    The International Neuropsychological Society  -  The International Neuropsychological Society
    Dedicated to promoting research, service and education in neuropsychology, and to enhancing communication among the scientific disciplines which contribute to the understanding of brain-behavior relationships. This site solely provides information about the Society. 
    Journal of Neurotrauma - The National Neurotrauma Society
               Publishes peer-reviewed papers on the latest advances in both the clinical and laboratory investigation of traumatic brain and spinal cord injury. Through its integration of clinical and laboratory investigation, it focuses on the basic pathobiology of injury to the central nervous system, while considering preclinical and clinical trials targeted at improving both the early management and long-term care and recovery of traumatically injured patients. Access to text of articles via subscription only.
    Kansas University Department of Neurology   University of Kansas
    Dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, education, and training of students. In addition to treating general neurological symptoms, specialized treatment and research clinics are offered. This site provides information on clinical services, research centers, and residency programs. 
    MGH Neuropsychology Lab   -  Massachusetts General Hospital
    This laboratory is a clinical and research facility. The research group studies language processing in normal subjects and in patients with central nervous system disease. Researchers use computer-based neuroimage analysis techniques to localize lesions in patients with language deficits and functional neuroimaging to identify areas of cerebral activation associated with language processing. This site provides information on current projects and contact information. 
    Mid-Hudson Medical Psychotherapy Center  - Mid-Hudson Medical Psychotherapy Center
    Provides neuropsychological diagnostic procedures and treatments for individuals who suffer form some sort of insult, injury, or illness of the brain. In addition to direct patient services, the Center also strives to help other professionals through consultative and training services. Information on this site is divided into two categories: patient and professional. 
    Muhammad Ali Parkinson Reseach Center - Barrow Neurological Institute
              The mission of the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Research Center is to provide diagnostic and treatment services, research, and education for those whose lives have been touched by Parkinson's disease and related disorders.  In addition to direct patient services, this site is designed to assist medical professionals in researching and understanding Parkinson's Disease. 
    National Academy of Neuropsychology  - The National Academy of Neuropsychology 
    The Academy is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge in the understanding, assessment, and remediation of brain dysfunction. This site provides visitors with general information about the Academy, along with links to other online resources. Also provided at this site is the conference report of  The Houston Conference on Specialty Education and Training in Clinical Neuropsychology. http://www.drexel.edu/

          The NIMH web site contains a substantial collection of resources on Anxiety Disorders, including a section on PTSD.       http://www.nimh.nih.gov
    National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke  - National Inst of Neurological Disorders and Stroke
              The NINDS, an agency of the U.S. Federal Government and a component of the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Public Health Service, is a lead agency for the Congressionally designated Decade of the Brain, and the leading supporter of biomedical research on disorders of the brain and nervous system. This site provides general information about the Institute. 
    The Neural Processes in Cognition Training Program  - University of Pittsburgh & Carnegie Mellon University
              Trains interdisciplinary scientists to deal with cognition in terms of modern day neuroscience. Students receive instruction in neurobiology, psychology, mathematics and computer simulation. 
    Neuroland  - Neurology information for physicians and health professionals
    Neuropsychiatric Institute Web Page  -  Prince Henry Hospital
    The Neuropsychiatric Institute (NPI) is a tertiary referral unit that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive disorders and psychiatric disorders associated with medical and neurological illnesses. This site describes the in-patient and out-patient clinics offered by the Institute, along with providing information on the disorders that are treated there as well. Navigation is a breeze. 
    Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association International,  Inc.  - NORA
              Provides information on the relation of vision deficts and human performance.  NORA promotes professional and public education concerning the frequently  neglected visual-motor and visual-perceptual disorders that commonly result from traumatic brain injury.

    Neuroscience Center of Indianapolis  - Neuroscience Center of Indianapolis
              A clinical service and research facility established to provide diagnostic, rehabilitation, and psychotherapy services to those with cognitive, psychological and/or psychophysiological problems having a neurological basis or producing neurological symptoms. The Center is also home to NeuroScience Publishers and Psychological Software Services Inc. Little useful information is provided about the Center. 
    Optometric Extension Program  -  Neuro-optometric Rehabilitation 
              Provides information on the relation of vision deficts and human performance.  Optometric Extension Program promotes professional and public education concerning the frequently  neglected visual-motor and visual-perceptual disorders that commonly result from traumatic brain injury.
    Pacific Neuropsychiatric Institute   - Pacific Neuropsychiatric Institute
    The Pacific Neuropsychiatric Institute (PNI) is involved with comprehensive evaluation and management in Neuropsychiatry and Psychopharmacology at the clinical, research, forensic, phenomenologic and education levels. http://www.pni.org/
    The Society for Behavioral Neuroendocrinology  - The Society for Behavioral Neuroendocrinology The Society for Behavioral Neuroendocrinology (SBN) is a new, broadly based, professional scientific society, committed to understanding the interaction between behavior and neuroendocrine function. 
    Society for Neuroscience   -  Society for Neuroscience
    The Society for Neuroscience is the world's largest organization dedicated to understanding the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system. The Society produces several publications for lay audiences.  In addition, the Society provides information about obtaining a handbook on neuroscience training programs.
    Society for the Study of Neuronal Regulation   -  Society for the Study of Neuronal Regulation
    The Society for the Study of Neuronal Regulation (SSNR), which sponsors the Neurofeedback Archive, is a membership organization comprised of professionals who do neurofeedback training and research. It includes reprints from peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and papers from SSNR members and meetings, and the SSNR bulletin board. 
    Southeastern Biofeedback and Neurobehavioral Institute  - Joel F. Lubar Ph.D. and Judith Lubar LCSW
    The Institute provides professional training, research and treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders as well as general psychophysiological disorders, psychotherapy, biofeedback and neurofeedback training, and individualized  treatment programs.

    Provides links to topics such as New Associations in Amnesia, Skill Learning and Repetition Priming, Connectionist and Instance Modeling, and Object and Scene Recognition. 
    University of Michigan Cognitive Neuroscience Lab  -  University of Michigan
    The Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory is a joint research venture between the University of Michigan's Department of Psychology and the University Medical Center. Visitors to the site can view abstracts of recent publications on neuroscience-related topics. Navigation through the site is direct, but some of the information is outdated. 
    USC Department of Neurosurgery  - University of Southern California
    The department provides all neurosurgical services at the Los Angeles County and USC Medical Center, at the USC University Hospital, and at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. 
    United States Department of Veterans Affairs  - 
          The VA is the parent organization of the National Center for PTSD. Its Web site provides a wide range of information on veterans' benefits and treatment facilities.
